Token activation cannot activate Windows 8.1 when multiple certificates are available

Symptoms

When multiple valid public-key infrastructure (PKI) certificates are available on a computer that is running Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2, the token activation (TA) does not work correctly. Therefore, you cannot activate Windows by using the certificates.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install update rollup 2928680, or install the hotfix that is described in this article.

To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2 installed.
