Use a screen reader to manage your account billing and subscriptions

This article guides you to navigate and manage your account billing options and subscriptions using the Microsoft account dashboard. Access your Microsoft account with your keyboard and a screen reader to manage your account billing and subscriptions.

Open Microsoft account dashboard

  1. Go to Microsoft account on your web browser.

  2. Sign in to open your Microsoft account dashboard. For more information, refer to Sign into your Microsoft account dashboard.

Manage your account billing options

Manage your account billing and payment by navigating the following four options:

  • Order history to view your Microsoft account order history.

  • Payment options for managing your payment options.

  • Address book to add and update your billing address.

  • Billing help to navigate through all the help related to billing and payments.

Navigate to Payment options

  1. Navigate to the Payment options item in the navigation landmark and select it.

  2. Navigate to the Add a new payment method button and select it. This action will open a dialog to add your payment method.

  3. Select your country and add the payment method.

  4. Fill the payment details and complete the process.

Manage your account subscriptions

Navigate to the Service & subscriptions link in the navigation header to manage your account subscriptions.

  1. Navigate until you hear “Service and subscriptions” and select it.

  2. Navigate through the subscriptions and expand the element to go through the options to manage your subscription.

  3. To manage your subscriptions, navigate to the subscription and select it when you hear “Manage your subscription.” 

    Note: There may be a few options available to manage your subscription. Depending on the state of the subscription, users may be able to change recurring billing, or cancel the subscription, or install Microsoft 365 or share your subscription.

  • To view the billing history, navigate to the Billing history option and select it.

  • To enable or disable auto renew feature, navigate to the Turn on/off recurring billing option and select it.

  • To cancel your subscription, navigate to the Cancel subscription option and select it.

  • To download and install Microsoft 365, navigate to the Install button and select it to proceed.

  • To share your subscription with up to five others, navigate to the Share button, and select it. Copy the link or send an invite email with others.

    Notes: 

    • If you have a past due balance for your subscriptions, navigate to the Pay now button and select it then navigate to the desired payment method and select it to proceed.

    • Verify all the charges and navigate to the Pay now button and select it to complete the payment. A payment confirmation pop-up will appear, navigate to the Close window button and select it.

Redeem a gift card

You can redeem a Microsoft or Xbox gift card or code to add funds or services to your account. 

  1. Go to Microsoft account in your web browser and sign in if prompted.

  2. Navigate to the Subscriptions menu item and select it.

  3. Navigate to Redeem a code or gift card if it appears and select it. If you do not see this option, navigate to the Payment & billing option and select it, and then select Redeem.

  4. Enter or paste your 25-character code in the code entry field and select the Next button to redeem it.

Note: You can also redeem a code by going to redeem.microsoft.com in your browser. If prompted, sign in with your personal Microsoft account, enter or paste your 25-character code, and follow the instructions to complete the process.
