Use Immersive Reader in Microsoft Forms

Customize the way text looks for easier reading, or have text read aloud with Immersive Reader in Microsoft Forms. To launch Immersive Reader in Microsoft Forms, follow the steps below. 

  1. Open any Microsoft Form and select ... then tap Enable Immersive Reader.

  2. Hover over any portion of text in the form to bring up the Immersive Reader icon Icon for Immersive Reader

  3. Select the Immersive Reader icon Icon for Immersive Reader. Immersive Reader will launch as a full screen experience.

  4. Customize your Immersive Reader options (detailed below) to meet your reading needs. 

  5. Select to return to the form and select or enter your response. 

  6. For each question you want support in reading, repeat steps 2-5. 

Immersive Reader options

Select Play to hear your document read aloud and to see the text highlighted simultaneously or adjust the settings below to support your reading.

Line Focus enables readers to narrow the focus of their reading experience by highlighting sets of one, three, or five lines within their chosen material in Immersive Reader. Use the toggle to turn it on or off.

Picture Dictionary gives you the ability to click on any single word to hear it read aloud and see a picture that helps define the word.

Translate lets you change the language of the text you're reading.
