This article describes an issue that occurs in Windows Server 2012 R2 that has Windows Deployment Services (WDS) installed. You can fix this issue by using the update in this article. Before you install this update, check out the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

This issue occurs when many client computers try to start over Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) on a multi-core system. Instead of using multiple CPU cores, all WDS threads are spinning at a high CPU usage, and TFTP transfers slow down to the point of start timeouts.
