Symptoms
On a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows RT, you may experience the following issues. Note You cannot upgrade to Windows 8.1 Enterprise or volume-licensed installations of Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store. Issue 1
In the Windows Store, you try to upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 or from Windows RT to Windows RT 8.1. However, you cannot find a way to perform the upgrade.Note A spotlight advertisement for upgrading should be displayed on the home page of the Windows Store.
Issue 2
After you click the Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1 upgrade notification, the Windows Store is opened automatically. However, a few seconds later, the home page of the Windows Store is displayed without the update spotlight.Note If you wait for 15 minutes or longer and then browse away from and back to the home page of Windows Store, you may see the spotlight advertisement for the upgrade.

Windows RT and Windows 8 file information notesImportant Windows 8 hotfixes and Windows Server 2012 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, only "Windows 8" is listed on the Hotfix Request page. To request the hotfix package that applies to one or both operating systems, select the hotfix that is listed under "Windows 8" on the page.
