Consider the following scenario:
You run Internet Information Services (IIS) on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server.
You run the Server Cleanup Wizard in the WSUS Administration Console to clear expired and old update revisions.
In this scenario, the IIS process crashes. Additionally, the WSUS database is not cleared correctly, and unusable updates remain in the WSUS database catalog.
To resolve this problem, install the November 2014 update rollup for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
