Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You try to upgrade Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Trial Edition on a computer that is running Windows 7.

You open Control Panel, and then click Programs and Features.
-
You right-click Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition or Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite, and then click Uninstall/Change.
-
Then, you click Next on the Visual Studio 2008 Maintenance Mode welcome page.
In this scenario, no Upgrade to Visual Studio 2008 section is displayed on the welcome page as expected.

More Information
This hotfix only fixes the missing Upgrade to Visual Studio 2008 section when you try to upgrade by using Uninstall/Change in Control Panel. This hotfix does not affect any other method of upgrading to Visual Studio 2008.
