Printer paper‑jam errors are common in Windows and can stop printing immediately. A few quick checks such as clearing the jam, removing scraps, and resetting the printer usually resolve the issue so you can resume printing with minimal downtime.

Follow the below troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.

  • Disconnect the power cable and any USB/network cables to prevent mechanical movement while clearing the jam.

Check every location where paper can get stuck:

Input tray:

  • Remove loose sheets.

  • Pull out jammed pages slowly from the input path.

Rear access door:

  • Open the rear panel or roller module.

  • Release latches (if applicable) before pulling paper from rollers.

Cartridge or toner area:

  • Lift the top cover.

  • Remove the ink/toner cartridge carefully.

  • Remove any jammed paper from the roller path.

Look for small scraps:

  • Check for torn pieces left behind — even tiny debris can keep the jam sensor triggered.

  • This aligns with internal guidance emphasizing correct checks of paper path, tray guides, and size settings.

  • Rotate rollers gently to ensure they move freely.

  • Wipe with a lint‑free cloth slightly dampened with water (no alcohol unless recommended by the manufacturer).

  • Fan the paper stack to reduce static.

  • Insert paper with guides snug against edges.

  • Ensure paper size and type match what the printer expects (noted as common cause in internal troubleshooting guidelines).

  • Reconnect the power cable.

  • Turn the printer back on.

  • Allow it to reinitialize fully.
