Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a mail-enabled public folder in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment.

  • You add a user as FolderContact to the mail-enabled public folder.

  • The user clicks Properties of the mail-enabled public folder from the global address list (GAL) by using Outlook.

In this scenario, the Folder contacts list is empty.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Microsoft Exchange Address Book service (MSExchangeAB) does not use the pFContacts attribute to build internal dictionaries. The pFContacts attribute contains the contact information of the mail-enabled public folder.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

2685289 Description of Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2
