This article describes cumulative update package 9 for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. This update contains hotfixes for SQL Server 2008 R2 issues that have been fixed after the release of SQL Server 2008 R2. Note The build of this cumulative update package is also known as build 10.50.1804.0. We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new fix release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release. A supported cumulative update package is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. This cumulative update package may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by any of these problems, we recommend that you wait for the next SQL Server 2008 R2 service pack that contains the hotfixes in this cumulative update package. To uninstall this cumulative update package, follow these steps:

  1. In Control Panel, open the Add or Remove Programs item.

  2. Click Change or Remove Programs.

  3. To reveal all the updates for the SQL Server 2008 R2 installation, select the Show Updates check box.

  4. Locate and uninstall the entry for this cumulative update package.
