Symptoms
This update fixes the following issues:

If the Master Data Services (MDS) database contains attributes that end with in "_Code", "_Name", or "_ID", the MDS database upgrade may fail.

If you use member permissions in an earlier version of MDS, the member permissions may not be upgraded correctly, and the member permissions may be broken after the upgrade.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server:
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
