This article describes update KB3191867 for Microsoft Office 2016, which was released on May 2, 2017. This update has a prerequisite. Be aware that the update on the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?)

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes the following issues:

  • When you use an earlier version of PowerPoint to open a PowerPoint 2016 presentation that includes a new chart, the data of the chart aren't displayed correctly. To fix this issue, install this update together with MS15-116: Description of the security update for PowerPoint 2016: November 10, 2015 (KB3101509).

  • After you copy a chart from Excel 2016 and paste it into PowerPoint 2016 or Word 2016, the chart may lose specified custom decimal and thousands separators.

  • When you try to insert a chart into a document in PowerPoint 2016 or Word 2016 on a high DPI monitor, the Excel data grid shows fewer rows of data.
