Symptoms

Assume that you have installed Cumulative Update (CU5) for Microsoft SQL Server 2016 on your computer. When you query the dynamic management view sys.dm_os_spinlock_stats, you receive incorrect results.

 

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 5 for SQL Server 2016 RTM

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2016 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
