Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You use Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS 2016).
-
You configure a report parameter to Allow multiple values .
-
You have a value in the parameter that contains only a blank space " ".
-
You open the report by using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browser.
In this scenario, when you choose the report parameter with the blank space and click View Report, you receive the following error message:
please enter avalue for the parameter '<parameter name>'. The parameter cannot be blank.
Note When you open the same report by using Internet Explorer browser, the issue does not occur.
The workaround is to replace the blank space " " with "" in the report parameter.
