Symptoms
Assume that you publish a database that contains a spatial index that uses either GEOGRAPHY_AUTO_GRID or GEOMETRY_AUTO_GRID in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or 2017. When you try to generate a snapshot for your publications, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Resolution
This problem is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2017
Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
