The Calculator app in Windows helps you perform basic calculations, switch to advanced modes, convert values, and keep the app visible while you work.
Open Calculator

Select Start.

Search for Calculator, then select the app from the results.
Choose a calculation mode
Select the Open navigation menu (☰) to switch modes:

Standard – Basic arithmetic
-
Scientific – Advanced calculations
-
Graphing – Plot equations
-
Programmer – Binary, hexadecimal, and more

Date calculation – Calculate date differences
Convert values
Calculator includes built-in converters.

Select Open navigation (☰).
-
Choose a converter, such as:
-
Currency
-
Volume
-
Length
-
Temperature
-
-
Enter a value, then select the units to convert from and to.
Convert currency
To convert currencies:
-
Open Currency from the navigation menu.
-
Enter the amount.
-
Select the currencies to convert between.
Currency rates update automatically when you're connected to the internet.
Keep Calculator on top
You can pin Calculator so it stays visible while you use other apps.

Open Calculator.
-
Switch to Standard mode.
-
Select Keep on top (or) press ALT + Up-arrow.
To turn it off, select Keep on top (or) press ALT + Down-arrow.
Additional tips:

Use History to review previous calculations.

Use Memory buttons (MC, MR, M+, M–) to store values.
-
Resize the window for easier viewing when multitasking.
