Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
- You create a cube in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and 2017 Analysis Services (SSAS) in Multidimensional mode.
- You create a scoped assignment to one or more measures in the cube.
- One of the measures is the default member of a hierarchy that has a custom rollup defined.
In this scenario, when you browse the cube in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and drill down the hierarchy members, you may receive an internal error message that resembles the following:
Note
Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'FileName.hpp', line LineNumber, function 'FunctionName'). (Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Analysis Services)
