Microsoft Edge, a modern and feature-rich web browser, allows you to sync your data seamlessly across devices. This means you can access your bookmarks, browsing history, saved passwords, and other settings on any device where you sign in with the same account.

Syncing Microsoft Edge provides several benefits such as:

  • Seamless Browsing Experience: Continue browsing on another device without missing a beat.

  • Access to Saved Information: Retrieve your saved bookmarks, passwords, and autofill details anywhere.

  • Enhanced Productivity: Keep your settings, extensions, and preferences consistent across devices.

  • Secure Data Backup: Your data is stored in the cloud, ensuring it’s safe even if you switch or lose a device.

Sign in to sync your account on your computer

  1. Ensure Microsoft Edge is installed on your device. Open the browser by clicking its icon on your desktop, taskbar, or application menu.

  2. Select the profile icon in the top-right corner of the browser window. It might display a default avatar or your account initials.

  3. From the list of options, choose the account you want to sign in to or if your account is not listed, choose Add new account. If you see Manage profile settings, you're already signed in.

    Note: If you're in the Microsoft Edge settings page, go to Profiles > Sign in,select the account you want to sign in to and select Continue. 

  4. Select Sign in to sync data

When you’re signed in, Microsoft Edge syncs your favorites, passwords, history, extensions, settings, open tabs, autofill form entries (such as your name, address, and phone number), payment info, and other data types across the devices you use with this account.

Note:  If you sync your favorites, any saved collections or reading lists will also be synced.

Sign in to sync your account on a mobile device

  1. Download the Microsoft Edge app for iOS and Android. We'll send a download link to your phone if you enter your phone number.

  2. Open the Microsoft Edge app, select the profile image , and then select Accounts

  3. Select your account and then select Sign in to sync. To enter a new account, select Add Account and follow the prompts. 

When you’re signed in, Microsoft Edge syncs your favorites, passwords, history, open tabs, autofill form entries (such as your name, address, and phone number), and other data types across the devices you use with this account.

Note:  If you sync your favorites, any saved collections or reading lists will also be synced.

How to switch accounts on your computer or mobile device

To switch to another account on your computer, click on your profile image, then select another profile or Add a new profile.

To switch to another account on your mobile device, click on your profile image, then select another profile or select Add Microsoft Account and follow the prompts.

Manage your sync settings on your computer

You can review or manage the type of data that is synced across your devices by following these steps: 

  1. In Microsoft Edge, select More options  > Settings  > Profiles > Sync.

  2. You'll see a list of the features and data types available for sync. Select the toggles along the right side of the screen to turn sync on or off for each feature. 

    Note:  If you choose to sync favorites, any tabs you previously set aside will also be synced. 

If you want to stop syncing data, you'll need to sign out of Microsoft Edge using the following steps: 

  • Go to Settings and more  > Settings Profiles > Sign out.

If you want to delete all your sync data before signing out:

  • Go to Privacy, search, and services Clear browsing data.

    Warning: Deleting data while signed in and syncing will remove it from all of your synced devices.
