Symptoms

Assume that you create a filtered statistic in Microsoft SQL Server. If the filtered statistics creation or update is sampled and uses a parallel plan internally, the resulting histogram may be scaled incorrectly, as seen from output of DBCC SHOW_STATISTICS. Additionally, the header for DBCC SHOW_STATISTICS may incorrectly show that the value for "Rows Sampled" is equal to the value for "Rows" instead of correctly showing that "Rows Sampled" is less than the value for "Rows."

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
