This security update resolves a Microsoft SharePoint Server information disclosure vulnerability and a Microsoft SharePoint Server spoofing vulnerability. To learn more about the vulnerabilities, see the following security advisories:​​​​

  • To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Microsoft SharePoint Server Subscription Edition installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes

This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition:

  • Fixes an issue in which you cannot create or edit items in a list if the list contains a hyperlink column type in the modern UI.

  • Fixes an issue in which the usage analytics reports don't work for upgraded SharePoint Server 2013 Search Service Application (SSA) Search Administration database.

  • Fixes an issue in which the usage analytics job doesn't run consistently if the short date format of the operating system uses a date separator other than the forward slash (/) character.

  • Fixes an issue in which a list type discussion board cannot show all discussion items on the My discussions page.

  • Fixes an issue in which the Hero web part doesn't show the tooltip when the truncated description is hovered.

  • Fixes an issue in which SharePoint server with the Distributed Cache service cannot rejoin a multi-server farm.

  • Fixes an issue in which the icon of the document library in the Copy to or Move to pane is a folder icon.

  • Fixes an issue in which the title of the Image gallery web part cannot be saved on a team site page.

  • Fixes an issue in which the "copy" message that appears during the process of copying items from search results on site pages is displayed incorrectly and is confusing.

  • Fixes an issue in which image renditions don't work for image files that are larger than 1 MB.

Known issues in this update

You experience an issue in which a web part or web form control on the web part page cannot be displayed. For more information, see Web part or web form control cannot be displayed on SharePoint web part page (KB5029605).
