Sign in, sign up, sign out, and add a new account in Microsoft Teams Free

Sign in to Microsoft Teams Free for the first time with an existing Microsoft account

1. Open the Teams app.
2. Enter your email address or phone number and select Sign in.
3. Enter your password or verification code and select Sign in.

Sign up for Microsoft Teams Free if you don’t have a Microsoft account

1. Open the Teams app.

2. Enter your personal email address or phone number and tap Next.

   Note

   Signing up for Microsoft Teams Free is different than using your work account (usually assigned by an IT admin as a part of an organization with a license to use Teams) or your school account (as part of a school or educational institution).

3. Select Create a free account.

4. Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

Add another account from within your Microsoft Teams Free app

1. Open the Teams app.
2. Tap your profile picture or  More .
3. Tap Add account. From here you add a personal or small business account. Just enter your sign-in information and follow the instructions.

Switch between your accounts in Teams

1. Open the Teams app.
2. Tap your profile picture or More .
3. Under Accounts and Orgs, select the account you'd like to switch to.

Sign out of Teams

1. Open the Teams app.
2. Tap your profile picture or More .
3. Under Accounts and Orgs, choose your personal or small business account.
4. Tap Settings .
5. Tap Sign out  then tap Sign out again to confirm.

3. Enter your email address or phone number and select Next.
4. Enter your password or verification code and select Sign in.

Sign up for Microsoft Teams Free if you don’t have a Microsoft account

1. Open the Teams app.

2. Select Get started.

3. Select the type of account you want to sign up with:

   • For my small business - To work with teammates, wherever they are.

   • With friends and family - For everyday life, to make audio or video calls.

     Note

4. Follow the instructions to create your Microsoft account.

Add another account from within your Microsoft Teams Free app

1. Open the Teams app.
2. Select your profile picture.
3. Select Add personal account. From here you can add a personal account. Just enter your sign in information and follow the instructions.

Sign out of Teams

1. In Teams on the web, select your profile picture.
2. Select Sign out.
