Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • The Asset Intelligence "License 01A" report queries product license information on a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) site server.

  • Some MSDN editions of Windows Server 2008 use Multiple Activation Key (MAK) keys.

In this scenario, the report incorrectly reports these MSDN editions of Windows Server 2008 as Windows XP. Also, when the R2 version of Windows Server 2008 is not installed, the query for the Asset Intelligence "License 01A" report incorrectly reports Windows Server 2008 as Windows XP.
