Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You create a web performance test and use a custom Web Test Recorder plugin in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

  • You access a PostWebTestRecordingEventArgs object that is passed to the plugin.

In this scenario, some HTTP requests in the RecordedWebTestResult property of the PostWebTestRecordingEventArgs object (for example HTTP methods, request headers, or form post parameters) do not match the actual HTTP requests. Specifically, when an HTTP request is directed to a URL, the request properties reflect the last redirection of the request, instead of the main request.

Cause

This issue occurs because Visual Studio 2010 Web Test Recorder records the HTTP request incorrectly in the RecordedWebTestResult property during an HTTP redirection.
