This article describes an issue that occurs on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based failover cluster. You can fix this issue by using the update in this article. Before you install this update, see the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

Assume that you have two nodes on the cluster. Because of a deadlock condition that exists between CSV File System (CSVFS) and Cache manager, one of the cluster nodes becomes unresponsive and eventually the node crashes with a Stop error that looks something like this:

STOP: 0x0000009E (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)

Notes

  • The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.

  • Not all "0x0000009E" Stop errors are caused by this issue.
