This article describes update 4484253 for Microsoft Project 2016 that was released on February 4, 2020.

Be aware that the update in the Microsoft Download Center applies to the Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2016. It doesn't apply to the Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions, such as Microsoft Office 365 Home (see What version of Office am I using?).

Improvements and fixes

This update fixes the following issue in Project 2016:

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You have a project that's saved to a server.

    • You have VBA code that is invoked from a custom ribbon button.

    • The code changes the project.

    • The code invokes the Save() method.

    • The code closes the project.

    • The project is opened later.

In this scenario, you find that the changes are not saved.
