When you delete a document from Word or Windows explorer, you can recover it within 30 days from the Windows Recycle Bin.

On your desktop, select
  Recycle Bin. Not there? See Find the Recycle Bin. -
In Recycle Bin you can:

Scan or scroll for your file. Select the Item type heading to group files.

Use the Search Recycle Bin box to find the file.

Select the Date Deleted heading to sort by date.Â

Select one or more files or folders and choose Restore the selected items.

When you delete a document from Word, you can recover it from the trash as long as the trash bin hasn't been emptied.

On your desktop, control-click
​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​Trash in the lower right corner. -
Select Open and do any of the following.

Scan or scroll for your file. Select the Kind heading to group files.

UseÂ
 Search to find the file. -
Select the Date Modified heading to sort by date.Â

Pick one or more files or folders, select the down arrow on Action and choose Put Back.
