Introduction

This article outlines the latest hotfix that introduces support for crypto policies in FIPS mode, specifically tailored for users monitoring Linux workloads. This enhancement is available to System Center Operations Manager 2019 and 2022 users. However, users of System Center Operations Manager 2016 need to apply the hotfix to ensure compatibility with the latest Linux agent version >= 1.9.0-0.

 Issue fixed in this update

System Center Operations Manager 2019 and 2022 now support monitoring of Linux distros where crypto policies (Future, FIPS, etc.) are enabled in FIPS mode.

System Center Operations Manager 2016 now uses a key size of 3072 for communication with SCOM-monitored Linux workloads.

  • KB5037360-amd64-Server.msp

  • KB5037360-amd64-Gateway.msp

For System Center Operations Manager 2016, you need the following files to install the hotfix:

  • KB5037360-amd64-Console.msp

  • KB5037360-amd64-Server.msp

Installation Instructions

For System Center Operations Manager 2016:

  1. Download the MSP files from the location here for management servers and from here for the console.

  2. From an elevated command prompt, run the KB5037360-amd64-Server.msp for the management servers and the KB5037360-amd64-Console.msp for the console.

For System Center Operations Manager 2019:

  1. Download the MSP files from the location here for management servers, from here for the gateway, and from here for the console.

  2. From an elevated command prompt, run the KB5037360-amd64-Server.msp for the management servers, the KB5037360-amd64-Console.msp for the console, and KB5037360-amd64-Gateway.msp for the gateway.

For System Center Operations Manager 2022:

  1. Download the MSP files from the location here for management servers, from here for the gateway, and from here for the console.

  2. From an elevated command prompt, run the KB5037360-amd64-Server.msp for the management servers, the KB5037360-amd64-Console.msp for the console, and KB5037360-amd64-Gateway.msp for the gateway.
