Introduction 

This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft System Center Orchestrator 2025. This article also contains the installation instructions for this update.  

Issues that are fixed

  • Read line activity: In SCO 2025, the special characters were converted to Hexadecimals using Read Line activity. It has been resolved.

  • Security Credentials not persisted in Invoke-Runbook activity in SCO 2025 RTM. It has been resolved, ensures that credentials passed to the Invoke-Runbook activity remain available for all dependent steps and are properly disposed of after completion to maintain security.

  • Monitor Event Log activity: Using Monitor Event Log activity in runbook, after running the process crash, and a new process starts. Also, new entries show up in Log tab. Nothing in Log History tab. It has been resolved.

  • Conform GB18030-2022 Amendment standard. In runbook tester, activity name with GB characters displayed incorrect. It has been resolved.

Other Improvements and Features 

  • Support SQL 2025 for SCO 2025.

  • If SCO 2025 with SQL 2022 already installed, SQL 2022 can be upgraded to SQL2025.

Known issues & limitations 

  • Identifiers are shown instead of Activity Names on the Runbook Tester canvas and Log View area. The Activity Name is included as a property in the Log View area.

  • If your SCO is upgraded from 2022, Download the SQL script, open SQL Server Management Studio, connect to your Orchestrator database, and execute the script for better web console performance

How to obtain Update Rollup 1 for System Center Orchestrator 2025 

Update packages for Orchestrator are available from Microsoft Update or by manual download. 

Windows Update  

To obtain and install an update package from Windows Update, follow these steps on a computer that has an Orchestrator component installed:  

  1. Select Start, and then select Control Panel.

  2. In Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.

  3. In the Windows Update window, select Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.

  4. Select Important updates are available.

  5. Select the Update Rollup package, and then select OK.

  6. Select Install updates to install the update package.

Installation instructions for Orchestrator Update Rollup 

Download the update packages that Microsoft Update provides for each computer. Microsoft Update provides the appropriate updates according to the components that are installed on each computer. Or manually download from the Microsoft Update Catalog.  

To manually install the update packages, run the following command from an elevated command prompt: 

msiexec.exe /p <packagename>

For example, to install the System Center 2025 UR1 package for Orchestrator Management Server (KB 5068306), run the following command: 

msiexec.exe /l*v "sco-mgmt-server-update-log.txt" /p KB5068306_Microsoft.SystemCenter.Orchestrator.ManagementServer_x64.msp

 After the Orchestrator updates are installed, reconfigure the Orchestrator database by using the existing database according to these guidelines.

Uninstalling UR1 

The Runbook Server, Runbook Designer, and Management Server UR1 packages can be uninstalled using Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > View installed Updates
