Outlook for iOS and Android lets you add your iCloud account by signing in with your Apple Account, so you usually don't need an app-specific password. If Outlook asks you for an app-specific password when you add your iCloud account, make sure you have the latest version of the Outlook app, restart the app, and try again.
If you still need an app-specific password (for example, if you set up your iCloud account as an IMAP account), follow the steps below. Apple requires two-factor authentication on your Apple Account before you can generate an app-specific password. Most Apple Accounts already use it.
To check or turn on two-factor authentication:
- Go to account.apple.com and sign in to your Apple Account.
- If two-factor authentication isn't turned on yet, select Upgrade Account Security and follow the onscreen instructions. For other ways to turn it on, see Two-factor authentication for Apple Account on the Apple Support site.
Once two-factor authentication is turned on, generate an app-specific password:
- Go to account.apple.com and sign in to your Apple Account.
- In the Sign-In and Security section, select App-Specific Passwords.
- Select Generate an app-specific password and follow the onscreen instructions. Copy the new password.
- Open the Outlook app and enter the app-specific password instead of your regular password when adding your account.
