Enable RTMP-In for your Teams event to produce your event directly from an external hardware- or software-based encoder. Teams RTMP-In can support an additional RTMP source that will automatically failover if the first RTMP stream drops from the meeting or event.
Note
An additional RTMP-In source will only failover when the primary RTMP-In source completely drops from the meeting or event. It will not failover in the event of streaming quality issues. Please ensure proper RTMP-In configuration before using this feature.
To schedule an event with RTMP-In:
Select Calendar
in Teams.Select New
or select an event type in the dropdown menu. Enter your event details.
Select Options

, turn the RTMP - In toggle on. To use an additional RTMP stream, turn the Additional RTMP source toggle on.Note

Select Apply to get a link and finish setup.

RTMP-In link and key
To see the RTMP-In link and key:
- Select Calendar
in Teams. - Select an event.
- Select View event
> Options
. - In Production tools
, you’ll see the Server Ingest URL and Stream key or name.
RTMP captions
To use RTMP captions for your meeting or event:
- Select Calendar
in Teams. - Select an event.
- Select View event
> Options
. - In Accessibility
, under Translate attendee captions, verify no languages are selected.
If a language selection is made here, RTMP captions will be disabled and live translated captions will be available in the selected languages.
Send video feed from Teams encoder
After you join the meeting, start streaming from your encoder using the ingest URL to display the stream to attendees.
If the meeting has Manage what attendees see enabled in your meeting options, people can select their RTMP-In feed to Bring on stage.
