Awards and certification badges in Microsoft 365 let you showcase verified achievements directly on your profile card. These badges help colleagues quickly understand accomplishments during everyday collaboration. Badges appear only if your organization’s administrator has configured a supported source to ingest awards and certifications into Microsoft 365 profiles. Microsoft 365 displays this information; badges are issued and managed by the source system.

Where you’ll see badges

When enabled by your organization, badges appear in Microsoft 365 apps where profile cards are shown, including Outlook, and Copilot App. Badge information may also be used by Microsoft 365 Copilot when answering people-related questions or summarizing profiles.

Manage badge visibility

Badges shown on your Microsoft 365 profile are managed at the source, not in Microsoft 365.

•    Hide a badge:

Go to the issuing platform and change the visibility of the specific badge. After the next sync, the badge will be hidden from your Microsoft 365 profile. Users can click on manage at source link in the flyout that opens on selecting a badge to open the badge page on the issuing platform.

•    Timing:

Changes made at the source can take up to 24 hours or the default crawl frequency set up by admin to appear in Microsoft 365.

•    Fix incorrect information:

If a badge is incorrect or missing, update it at the source or contact your tenant administrator for help.
