Meeting organizers have generally been able to view which attendees have accepted, tentatively accepted, or declined a meeting invitation. If the meeting is created by someone using Microsoft 365, only attendees in the same tenant who are using Microsoft 365 can see the responses to the meeting invitation.
Note
External users, or users outside of your tenant, will not be able to see responses to the meeting invitation.
Where can attendees view responses?
The attendee list and responses are currently available in all Outlook apps. Responses won't be visible in non-Outlook apps.
| Outlook client | Microsoft 365 users see responses in: |
|---|---|
| Outlook for Mac |
|
| Outlook for Windows |
|
| Outlook on the web |
|
| Outlook for iOS |
|
| Outlook for Android |
|
For smaller meetings, specifically meetings with less than fifty attendees, it can take 15 minutes for changes to appear for attendees. For meetings with more than fifty attendees, changes may take up to a full day to proliferate entirely to all attendees.
If an attendee chooses "Do not send a response", is the response tracked?
| Outlook client | Response tracked: |
|---|---|
| Outlook for Mac | Yes |
| New Outlook for Windows | Yes |
| Classic Outlook for Windows | No |
| Outlook on the web | Yes |
| Outlook for iOS | Yes |
| Outlook for Android | Yes |
In all versions of Outlook other than classic Outlook for Windows, if a Microsoft 365 attendee chooses to accept, tentatively accept, or decline the invitation and to not send a response, the attendee list seen by the organizer and other attendees in Microsoft 365 is updated to reflect the attendee's response. In classic Outlook for Windows, if the attendee chooses not to send a response, the response can't be viewed by the organizer or other attendees.
Meeting organizers can hide the attendee list from attendees in new Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web. When you create or edit a meeting, select Response options > Hide attendee list. This option isn't available in classic Outlook for Windows.
