Keyboard shortcuts are keys or combinations of keys that provide another way to do something that you’d typically do with a mouse. The following are common keyboard shortcuts in many of the Microsoft apps that come with Windows 10 and Windows 11. This includes shortcuts for:

Wake the screen: Press Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the graphics driver. You should hear a beep or see a screen flicker if successful. Check display mode: Press Windows + P, then tap P again and press Enter to cycle through display modes (e.g., PC screen only, duplicate, extend)

Try a Windows key sequence In some cases, pressing Windows logo Key + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset your graphics driver may fix your issue. If this does not work, see if restarting helps.

Accessibility shortcuts can help you use your PC with a keyboard or assistive device. The following is a list of keyboard shortcuts for assistive technologies in Windows 11, including Magnifier, high contrast, and others.

For example, pressing CTRL+B changes selected text to bold. If you reassign CTRL+B to a new command or other item, you will not be able to make text bold by pressing CTRL+B unless you restore the keyboard shortcut assignments to their original settings by selecting Reset All at the bottom of the Customize Keyboard dialog box. Select Assign.
