If you can't sign in to your Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, or MSN email account, or you're not sure how to sign in or sign out, here are some solutions.

For guidance on how to locate the Apps button to access add-ins while reading or composing a mail item, see Use an add-in in Outlook. In the Apps page, search for the add-in you want from the available list. Alternatively, if you're after a specific add-in, enter its name in the search box.

The new Outlook for Windows will launch into the first account on your list in Windows Mail. If Outlook can't sign you in automatically, manually type in the account and sign in. Select Import Settings on the dialog that appears to bring over your settings or choose Skip.

Since add-ins are separate programs, occasionally an Outlook COM add-in can encounter problems that slow down the rest of Outlook. These problems could be due to latency of events such as switching between Outlook folders, arrival of new emails, opening Calendar items, etc.

If you have a header or footer already, click or tap where you want to put the page number first. Go to Insert > Page Number. Do one of the following: Select Current Position if you have a header or footer. Select a location if you have no header or footer yet.
