Microsoft accounts are for personal use, and for accessing services like Outlook.com, Xbox or Skype. Microsoft work and school accounts are for organizations that use Microsoft 365 for business. Choose your account type, or learn more about the differences.

Before you begin, make sure your PC or Mac meets the system requirements. If you already redeemed a product key, reinstalling the apps, or you have an assigned license through work or school, you can skip ahead and go to the section sign in to download and install Microsoft 365 or Office.

How to check if your email is a Microsoft account? Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page at https://account.microsoft.com and enter your email address. Sign in. If you see a message that says "We couldn't find an account with that username." or "That Microsoft account doesn't exist", then the address you entered is not a Microsoft account.

For volume licensing support, open your Microsoft 365 admin center, select Help & support, and search for "manage volume licensing" or submit an online support request. Don't forget to include your license ID or agreement number, your contact phone number & email address so we can contact you.
