Character Map is a program built into Microsoft Windows that enables you to view the characters that are available in a selected font. Using Character Map, you can copy individual characters or a group of characters to the Clipboard and paste them into any program that can display them.

Character Map allows you to view, select, and copy special characters and symbols that are not available on a standard keyboard. It is particularly useful for inserting foreign language letters, or symbols into documents or other text fields.

By default, the Symbol dialog box shows emoji at first when it's opened. But you can expand it to see other character sets: Scroll to the top and click the toggle button in the right corner: Click the symbol that you want. Click the character that you want. On the Insert menu, click Symbol. Click the symbol that you want.

To add accents or special characters, use the number pad on your keyboard with Num Lock turned on. Add international characters using keyboard shortcuts in your Outlook email.

If you only want to enter a little text in another language and don’t want to switch your keyboard, you can use the Character Map, one of the Accessories in Microsoft Windows.

As a result it's important to use the right font to find the symbol or character you want. These marks are static symbols.
