Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You run the New-MailboxSearch cmdlet to create a mailbox search in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) environment. Both the IncludeUnsearchableItems property, and the ExcludeDuplicateMessages property are set to true.

  • The mailbox has the same unsearchable items that are located in different folders.

  • You run the Get-MailboxSearch cmdlet to view the mailbox search.

In this scenario, the search status displays as PartiallySucceeded. Additionally, you receive the following error message at the command prompt:

{An error occurred when searching <search name>. The message is 'The items could not be copied.'.}
