You can create short AI-generated video clips from a prompt in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Notes:

  • Short clip creation is currently only available to try in the Frontier early access program for eligible Microsoft 365 plans with Copilot add-on licenses.

  • Frontier includes early access to experimental features, which means features may change as Microsoft improves them.

  • Early Frontier features are initially available in English for U.S.-based subscribers. Availability will expand over time.

Create a clip

  1. In your browser, sign in at m365copilot.com

  2. Choose Create from the left navigation pane, then select Create a video.

  3. Type your prompt in the prompt box.

Option 1: Copilot helps you choose what type of video to make

Copilot can analyze your prompt to determine whether an AI-generated short clip or a storyboard-style video project is a better fit for your prompt.

  1. After typing your prompt, choose Create in the prompt box.

  2. Copilot decides whether your video should be a short clip or storyboard-style video project.

  3. If Copilot has trouble deciding, you'll be shown a selection screen. Choose Generate a clip.

  4. Choose Create in the prompt box.

Option 2: Manually choose what type of video to make.

You can decide whether you want to create a short clip or a longer storyboard-style video project.

  1. After typing your prompt, select Create a clip from the Create home screen.

  2. Choose whether you want a 4, 8, or 12-second clip from the dropdown menu.

View and edit your clip

  1. Once Copilot generates your clip, select the Play button to play it.

Note: An "AI-generated" label will appear on your clip if your admin has enabled labeling.

  2. To make changes to your clip, type what you want to change in the Transform with AI prompt box and select Regenerate.

  3. Select Share to share your clip.

  4. If you want to make more detailed edits to your clip, select Open in Clipchamp. Learn how to edit clips in Microsoft Clipchamp.

  5. Your video automatically saves to your OneDrive.
