Flashcards in Learning Activities use AI to turn your content into study cards. Choose from term and definition, question and answer, or multiple-choice formats - or combine them in a single set.
Create flashcards

In Learning Activities, select + New Activity > Flashcards.

Add your learning content. You can:

Paste text directly into the content window.

Select + Add Content to upload files from your device or add cloud files from OneDrive.
Supported file types: Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, and text files. Content must be between 240 and 50,000 characters.

Select your language.

Choose your flashcard types. You can select any combination:

Term and Definition — A term on the front, its definition on the back.

Question and Answer — A question on the front, the answer on the back.

Multiple Choice — A question with multiple-choice answers.

(Optional) Turn on Generate a hint for each card. This is on by default when you have enough content.

Select Generate.
Review and edit flashcards
After generating, you can review and customize your flashcards before saving.

Edit a card — Select any card to edit its content and add images to the front or back.

Delete a card — Remove cards you don't want.

Rearrange cards — Drag cards to change their order.

Add a blank card — Add a new card manually at the bottom.

Generate 5 more — Create additional cards from your content at the bottom.

Edit the title — Select the auto-generated title at the top to rename your activity.
Enhance with AI
Use the Enhance with AI panel on the right to describe changes you'd like. You can ask it to adjust the cards, change the card type, or modify hints.
Preview your activity
Select the Play button next to Save Activity to preview how the flashcards will look during practice.
Save your activity
Select Save Activity when you're happy with your flashcards.

Students go directly into practicing the flashcards.

Educators go to the activity overview page.
Practice flashcards
When practicing, you go through each card one at a time:

Read the front of the card.

Select the card to flip it and see the answer.

(Optional) Select the hint icon to reveal a hint.

Choose I know this or Still learning to sort the card.
View your results
After going through all cards, you see a summary of the cards you know and the ones you're still learning.

Start over — Practice all cards again.

Retry missed — Practice only the cards marked "Still learning."
View insights (educators only)
On the activity overview page, educators can see:

Students started — How many students have begun the activity.

Students completed — How many have finished.
-
Average score — The average across all students.
-
Challenging cards — Cards that over half of completed students are still learning.
Share your flashcards
Select Share from the overview page or the three-dot menu (⋯) on the home screen.

Join code — Share this code with others. They enter it using the Join button on the home screen.

Share link — Copy a direct link to share with anyone.
