Symptoms

Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) certificates are not supported in Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the following update:

Hotfix update for Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 and 2016: April 23, 2024 (KB5037224)

This feature is disabled by default and must be enabled after installing the update. For more information see Digital certificates and encryption in Exchange Server.
