If your feed isn’t ingesting properly or content is missing from MSN, this page outlines how to diagnose common ingestion issues, fix validation errors, and understand feed health dashboards.

Check your feed’s ingestion status in MSN Partner Hub. Validation errors, expired dates, missing media, or non-compliant formatting may prevent content from publishing.

Skipped items are usually due to syntax issues, network problems, or unchanged metadata. Make sure your updated item has a new publish or updated date and correct formatting.

Feeds may fail due to broken formatting, invalid dates, language mismatches, or encoding errors. Review the failure report for specific errors.

Use the Feed reliability dashboard to monitor ingestion success rate, latency, and error trends. Navigate to Management > Feeds and select the feed name.

Persistent feed errors may place your feed on a control list. This blocks auto-publishing until errors are resolved. Contact partnerhubsupport@microsoft.com if you're unsure which error is causing the block.

Each article must be between 450 and 500,000 characters. The total feed size must not exceed 10MB, and individual images should not exceed 15MB.

Each item must have a Unique ID, Title, Body, and Published Date in a valid RFC 822 or RFC 3339 format.

If you don’t update the publish or updated date field, the system will assume it’s unchanged and skip it—even if other content was edited.

Update the item’s expiration date to a date in the past and include an updated date. This will signal Microsoft to remove the item.
