How to manage content feature settings
MSN Partner Hub includes a dedicated Features section where you can control how your content participates in AI-powered and editorial experiences, including Copilot Daily, AI polls, and Related video insertions.
To view and manage these settings:
-
Go to Settings > Features in MSN Partner Hub.
-
Toggle individual features On or Off depending on your brand’s participation preferences.
Key content features include:
-
Copilot & MSN Daily: Allows your content to be used and mixed with other sources to create AI-generated audio summaries in Microsoft Copilot. Brands opted in will receive discretionary RevShare aligned with MSN article rates.
-
AI polls: Enables AI-generated polls to be paired with your submitted content, driving engagement with readers.
-
Related video: Lets MSN insert relevant video clips alongside your articles when no video is submitted.
-
NoArchive: When enabled, removes all of your MSN content from Copilot on the web and prevents Microsoft’s AI foundation models from training on that content.
Note: Changes made here apply only to the selected brand and may take a few hours to propagate across systems. If you’ve previously opted out of Copilot or AI features and wish to opt in—or vice versa—this is where you can update your participation status.
Profile review process
All changes or additions to brand profiles must be approved by the MSN Partner Hub moderation team before going live. Any submitted additions or changes will be evaluated to confirm the brand has been created under the right partner account and is not a duplicate, that all brand logos and profile data are high-quality and free of typos or other errors, and that all brand content is in compliance with the MSN Publishing guidelines.
-
Profiles that pass moderation will automatically be published.
-
If your profile doesn’t pass moderation for any reason, you will need to address any flagged issues and resubmit for approval.
Review can take up to 24 hours and no changes may be made to your brand profile until you receive moderation approval.
Brand naming guidelines
Every brand name on MSN must be unique globally, not just within your local market. It should also contain fewer than 50 characters.
MSN respects the use of official brand names. However, if you need to include additional details like market, region, or language to differentiate your brand, these additions must comply with MSN's specific naming guidelines outlined below.
By carefully crafting your MSN brand name according to these conventions, you ensure it stands out and is easily recognizable on the MSN platform, facilitating better engagement with your target audience.
Differentiation by location, language, and vertical
-
If the same brand is offered in multiple locations (markets/regions/cities) and/or languages, add the location and/or language to differentiate it.
-
Vertical names are generally not required as adding a feed should consolidate all vertical brands into one brand. However, if necessary, you can add the vertical name at the end of the brand name.
Naming format
-
Format: "Brand name + Location + (Language) + - Vertical"
-
Example: Contoso US (Spanish) - Video
Naming conventions
If your MSN brand name is not unique to our audiences, follow this order of priority:
-
Add location, market/region/city just after the brand name.
-
Add language in parentheses after the brand name or location.
-
Add a vertical name with a hyphen, if necessary, at the end of the name.
Detailed definitions
-
Location: Add the location name without any symbols after the brand name. Location can be written in the local language. If the state follows the region name, you can abbreviate the state with a comma.
-
Examples: Contoso México, Contoso Washington D.C, Contoso Morristown, NJ.
-
-
Language: Add the language in parentheses after the brand name. Language can be written in the local language.
-
Examples: Contoso (français), Contoso (English).
-
-
Vertical (Genre Name): Add the vertical name with a hyphen at the end. MSN has preferred vertical names. Please follow the guidelines below.
-
Example: Contoso - Games, Contoso News – Video.
-
-
Combination: If your brand name includes a location, language, and vertical, combine them.
-
Example: Contoso Canada (French) - Video.
-
Vertical naming rules
Please adhere to the following guidelines when naming verticals:
-
Preferred: Video, Games, Entertainment, News, Sports, Autos, Health, Lifestyle, Weather.
-
Not preferred: Videos, VIDEO, video, Gaming, Game, Ent, Car, and any other abbreviation such as Ent for Entertainment, RE for Real Estate, etc.
Note: If your MSN brand name includes a vertical name, you do not need to change the format. Local language is acceptable for location, language, and vertical names.
