Troubleshoot MSN WordPress and custom formatting issues
If you're using WordPress on MSN or encountering formatting issues in your articles, this page outlines common problems with block compatibility, unsupported styles, and HTML rendering limitations.
Why doesn’t my WordPress layout appear the same on MSN?
MSN uses its own article template, which overrides WordPress styles. Layout blocks, theme widgets, and special formatting may be removed or converted during ingestion.
Which WordPress blocks are supported?
Common blocks like Headings, Paragraphs, Lists, Images, and Quotes are supported. Quote styles and special formatting blocks like Verse or Pullquote may lose styling.
Why isn’t my audio embed working?
Audio embeds from WordPress are not currently supported on MSN. You may need to convert audio into a video or include it on your original article page only.
Can I use HTML to style my article?
Yes, but only in the body or slide image description field. Disallowed tags will be removed, and deeply nested tags or inline styles may be stripped.
Why do some of my embeds fail?
MSN only supports certain embeds like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram if they use HTTPS and follow the official embed code. Unsupported third-party widgets may be displayed as plaintext.
Why do my line breaks or paragraph spacing disappear?
Avoid using multiple tags or deeply nested divs. MSN may clean up extra breaks or misaligned spacing that affects readability.
