Note: Channel Agent for Teams channels is currently in public preview, and features are likely to change. To learn more about Microsoft's public preview program, see Get early access to new features in Microsoft Teams.
Once you’ve created Channel Agent for a channel in Teams, you can remove the agent from conversations you’ve added it to and even delete that agent from its channel.
You may want to remove or delete Channel Agent:
-
To make sure your agent only references the most current and authoritative knowledge sources.
-
To protect the data your agent has access to by making its knowledge discoverable only to certain people in specific Teams conversations.
-
To delete an agent that is no longer needed once a project is completed.
Remove Channel Agent from a meeting or group chat
Once you remove Channel Agent from a conversation, the agent also removes all knowledge in its knowledge base that was pulled from that conversation.
Channel Agent in group chats doesn’t use the group chats’ messages as knowledge sources. Removing Channel Agent from a group chat means that the agent can’t be accessed in that group chat anymore.
Note: Only channel members with a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription (and, if restricted, only channel owners) can remove Channel Agent from conversations.
-
Navigate to the meeting chat or group chat you want to remove Channel Agent from.
-
On the conversation’s menu bar, select
Add people, agents, and bots. -
In the drop-down menu, find the name of your Channel Agent and selectÂ
 Remove.-
The agent is now removed from the conversation.
-
Delete Channel Agent from its channel
When you delete Channel Agent agent from its channel, the agent is also removed from all conversations you added it to. Its related data is deleted too.Â
-
Navigate to your Channel Agent’s channel.
-
On the channel’s menu bar, selectÂ
 View channel audience. -
In the drop-down menu, find the Channel Agent's name and selectÂ
 Delete.-
