When you're finished editing, export your video to save or share it.
  • Video experiences in Microsoft 365 for playing, recording, uploading, discovering, sharing, and managing videos. For details and availability, see Learn more about the Clipchamp video capabilities in Microsoft 365.

The rest of this article covers the video editor.

How do I access the Clipchamp video editor?

The account you sign in with determines which version of the editor you use. Personal projects and work or school projects are separate.

Clipchamp for personal accounts

Sign in to Clipchamp for personal accounts with a personal Microsoft account. Use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer, or use the Clipchamp app for Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Import videos, images, and audio from your computer or OneDrive. To use files from another service, download them to your computer first, then import them into Clipchamp.

After editing, export your finished video to your computer or OneDrive, or use another destination offered on the export page. Available destinations can vary.

Clipchamp for work or education accounts

Sign in with the work or school account issued by your organization. Your account needs an assigned license that includes Clipchamp, and the Clipchamp service must be enabled for your account.

Open the Clipchamp start page in Edge or Chrome, or sign in to the Clipchamp app for Windows. Clipchamp stores work or school projects and media files in your organization's OneDrive or SharePoint.

For eligible licenses and other ways to open the editor, see How to access Microsoft Clipchamp with your work or school account.

What software do I need to be able to use Clipchamp?

You can use Clipchamp in a supported desktop browser or the Windows app. You need an internet connection to sign in, save changes to the cloud, and use online features. For supported computers and browsers, hardware recommendations, and Windows installation guidance, see Which devices does Clipchamp work on?.

Your organization can restrict app installation or use on a managed device. Contact your IT admin if you need help.

Does Clipchamp cost anything?

Clipchamp for personal accounts

The free plan includes core editing tools, free stock content, and watermark-free exports at up to 1080p resolution.

For features included with qualifying Microsoft 365 subscriptions, see Clipchamp personal plans and premium features. You can find current pricing options in Clipchamp products and cost.

Clipchamp for work or education accounts

Clipchamp Standard might already be included in your organization's subscription. Check the eligible work and school licenses with your IT admin before purchasing separately.

For standalone plans, Clipchamp Premium features, and the separate requirements for Copilot video creation, see Clipchamp work and school plans.

How is Clipchamp different from other video creation tools?

Clipchamp runs in your browser and uses your computer to preview and export videos. The optional Windows app uses the same web technologies.

Local processing doesn't mean your files always stay on your device. Project storage, media backup, sharing, and features such as autocaptions can use cloud services. Work or school projects and media are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint. For personal accounts, cloud storage and media backup depend on the experience and settings you use.

For details, see How Clipchamp stores and processes media files in editing projects and Clipchamp cloud storage frequently asked questions.
