Use the following instruction to manage and install add-ins. To install a new add-in: Select File > Get Add-ins. Alternatively, in Word, Excel and PowerPoint you can view your add-ins by selecting Home > Add-ins.

Office add-ins can help you personalize your documents or speed up the way you access information on the web. For example, with an add-in you could look up items on Wikipedia or add an online map to your document without having to leave Excel.

Get an Office Store add-in. On the Insert tab, look for the Add-ins group. To get new add-ins, select Get Add-ins. To use add-ins you already have, select My Add-ins . The add-ins you'll see will depend on the kind of Microsoft 365 subscription you have.

Add-ins are supplemental programs that add custom commands or custom features to Office programs. You can obtain add-ins for PowerPoint at Popular Office downloads or on third-party vendor websites.

In Outlook, click File > Manage Add-ins. In Outlook Web App, click Settings > Manage add-ins. Under Manage add-ins, in the Turned on column, select the check box for the add-in you want to enable. Learn how to enable an app for Outlook.

Add-ins provide optional commands and features for Microsoft Excel. By default, add-ins are not immediately available in Excel, so you must first install and (in some cases) activate these add-ins so that you can use them. Some add-ins are built in to Excel, such as Solver and the Analysis ToolPak.

For guidance on how to locate the Apps button to access add-ins while reading or composing a mail item, see Use an add-in in Outlook. In the Apps page, search for the add-in you want from the available list. Alternatively, if you're after a specific add-in, enter its name in the search box.

If you don’t want to use an add-in in Outlook 2016, you can disable it so that it won’t show up in your messages. In Outlook, click File > Manage Add-ins. Tip: This opens Outlook on the web. Under Manage add-ins, in the Turned on column, uncheck the box for the add-in you want to turn off.

Use the My Office Add-ins and SharePoint page to check your add-in’s status and retrieve hidden add-ins. In Word 2016, Excel 2016, or PowerPoint 2016 click Home > My Add-ins > More Add-ins . In Project 2016, click Project > My Add-ins .
