File storage in Teams

Files that you upload to a channel are stored in your team's SharePoint folder. These files are available in the Files tab at the top of each channel.

Files that you upload to a one-on-one or group chat are stored in your OneDrive for Business folder and are shared only with the people in that conversation. These are available in the Files tab at the top of a chat.

Note: The OneDrive files you see in Teams are OneDrive for Business files associated with your Microsoft 365 account, not your personal OneDrive. Teams can't currently connect to your personal OneDrive.

Files that you upload to a channel are stored in your team's SharePoint folder. To access SharePoint files and folders for a channel, go to the channel and tap Files.

Files that you upload in a one-on-one or group chat are stored in your OneDrive for Business folder and are shared only with the people in that conversation. You can access them from the Files tab in the chat, the Files page in Teams, and your OneDrive mobile app.

You can upload files from the Teams Files page by tapping OneDrive > Add  Select to add an item..

You can see your recent files by tapping More More button > Files. From there, select OneDrive and tap Add Select to add an item. to upload the file.
