Manage accounts and organizations in Microsoft Teams
The new version of Teams allows you to quickly and easily sign in to and switch between multiple accounts and organizations. Search and chat have been streamlined to offer more seamless collaboration opportunities.
Notes:
-
Signing in to multiple organizations is available as part of the new Teams. To get access, see Try the new Teams.
-
This feature is currently only available on Windows desktop, with a Mac version coming soon.
Sign in to additional accounts
Using the new Teams, you can now be logged into multiple work, school, and personal accounts.
-
Select your profile picture in the top right of the Teams desktop client.
-
Select Add another account and enter your credentials in the pop-up window.
You can return to your profile at any time to switch between accounts.
Note: If any of your accounts have guest access to other organizations, you don’t need to add them—they will appear automatically.
Manage notifications and visibility for accounts and organizations
Notifications are turned on by default for any organization you have previously joined as a guest. All activated accounts and orgs will be visible on your profile.
-
Go to Settings and more > Settings > Accounts and orgs
-
Your currently selected account will be highlighted, and underneath you can see all other organizations related to that account.
-
Use the toggle next to the organization(s) you’d like to change your notification preferences for.
You can only have one account active at any given time showing missed activity in the Activity tab. To see activity for other accounts, click on Activity in your other accounts and orgs
to the left of your organization’s name.
Selecting any of those notifications will automatically take you to that account.
If you have not yet turned on notifications for an org listed in your settings, they will be turned on automatically if you join a meeting or are added to a channel by another user.
