It's easy to switch to the Microsoft 365 subscription that best meets your needs. For example, if you have Microsoft 365 Personal and want to share Office apps and subscription benefits with your household, you can switch to Microsoft 365 Family.
How to switch subscription plans
How it works:
You buy the Microsoft 365 subscription that you want to switch to using the same Microsoft account as your current subscription.
The remaining days on your current subscription are automatically added to your new subscription.
Depending which plan you're switching to, some benefits may be added or removed (such as sharing and premium Family Safety features).
See Common questions below for more info.
Here's an example
Moving from Microsoft 365 Personal to Microsoft 365 Family:
Current subscription: You have 6 months left on your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.
New subscription: You buy a 12-month subscription to Microsoft 365 Family using the same Microsoft account as your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription.
Result: Your existing subscription is immediately converted to Microsoft 365 Family and will renew in 18 months, not 12. Microsoft 365 Family benefits such as sharing and Family Safety are available immediately after you make this switch.
