Most app updates happen automatically in Teams, but when an app update requires new permissions, you must manually accept the update everywhere the app is added.
From Manage your apps

Select Apps on the left of Teams.

At the bottom of the Apps pane, select Manage your apps.

On the Apps tab, scan for the Update available indicator. Select the app that you want to update.

Select View update.
The app details page for that app opens, and you can view the Permissions tab to review the new list of permissions.

Select Update to agree to the permissions and update the app.
From a group chat

Right-click the group chat.

Select Manage apps.

Scan for the Update button. Select Update for the app that you want to update.
The app details page for that app opens, and you can view the Permissions tab to review the new list of permissions.

Select Update to agree to the permissions and update the app.
From a team

Right-click the team.

Select Manage team.

On the Apps tab, scan for the Update button. Select Update for the app that you want to update.

From a personal app

In Teams, select your personal app on the left of Teams.

When a personal app requires new permissions, a banner shows a View update button.

Select View update.
